Road regulations, including traffic lights, exist for a reason, and disregarding them can have serious consequences.
In one such incident, it is said that a man caused an accident in Petaling Jaya after running a red light.

A man in his 20s was arrested after allegedly running a red light and causing a two-car collision at Jalan PJU 8/1, Damansara Perdana, on Saturday (May 23).
Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat said police received a report on the incident at about 10.31am.
“Initial investigations found that the accident occurred at 12.27am when the suspect, driving a sport utility vehicle (SUV), allegedly failed to stop at a red traffic light before colliding with a sedan driven by another man in his 20s,” he said in a statement on Saturday.
A woman in her 20s, who was a passenger in the sedan, suffered injuries in the incident.
The case has since gone viral on social media.
ACP Shamsudin added that the suspect was detained at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters compound for reckless driving.
“Alcohol and initial urine screening tests conducted on the suspect returned negative results.
“An application to remand the suspect will be made on Sunday (May 24) at the Petaling Jaya Court Complex,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
“A parallel investigation is also being conducted by the district criminal investigation division under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt,” he added.
