A five-second video showing a private vehicle bearing the word "Bomba" and fitted with a siren running a red light has gone viral. Did such an incident happen in Sungai Petani, Kedah as claimed?
Verdict:

TRUE
The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department has confirmed that a private vehicle bearing the word "Bomba" and equipped with a beacon light is neither an official department vehicle nor one belonging to any Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS) in the state.
The department said it was aware of a video circulating on social media showing the vehicle and that further action was being taken to address the misuse of the department's identity, reported Bernama.
"The Kedah Fire and Rescue Department takes a serious view of any unauthorised use of the department's identity, which could mislead the public and undermine the image and credibility of the fire service," it said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 28).
The department also urged the public not to speculate or disseminate unverified information that could cause confusion.
It expressed appreciation to members of the public who had provided information on the matter, stressing that public cooperation was essential to ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of information circulated.
"The department remains committed to upholding the integrity and professionalism of the department while maintaining public trust in the fire service," it added.
Previously, a viral video of the incident showed a private vehicle bearing the word "Bomba" allegedly nearly colliding with several other vehicles after running a red light in Sungai Petani.
