VERDICT:

TRUE
Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Radin Ramlan Radin Taha said the suspects, a local and two Filipinos, were arrested after a car chase.
"At about 2.30am on Tuesday, a police patrol unit spotted a car carrying four men behaving suspiciously along Jalan Persiaran SILC in Gelang Patah.
"When police ordered the driver to stop, he sped off, eventually driving against traffic along the Second Link before abandoning the vehicle at Jalan Suria 2 in Masai," he said in a statement later on Tuesday.
ACP Radin Ramlan said three suspects were subsequently arrested, while a fourth escaped and police are tracking him down.
"A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a cable cutter and three mobile phones, which were seized along with the car.
"Initial investigations suggest that the suspects were planning to steal cables," he said.
He added that two of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine.
"Further investigations are ongoing to track down the remaining suspect and determine whether the group was involved in other criminal activities," he said.
ACP Radin Ramlan said the case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant in the discharge of his duties, which carries a maximum jail term of two years, a fine of up to RM10,000, or both, upon conviction.
He urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the district police control centre at 07-5113622 or its hotline at 07-5114486.
