A man who was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) stealing women's underwear in Kampung Baru Rasah, Seremban, was apprehended by police on Wednesday (April 16).
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, confirmed that the suspect, a man in his 40s, was detained after voluntarily presenting himself at the police station around 9am.
"Following our investigation we identified the suspect and called him to the police station for questioning," he told Sinar Harian.
Previously, Sinar Harian reported that a woman had been puzzled by the frequent disappearance of her undergarments from the clothesline.
The mystery was solved when her home's CCTV captured the suspect in the act.
In the latest incident on Tuesday (April 15), the man was seen parking his lorry beside the victim's house before jumping into the premises to commit the theft.
The victim claimed that the disappearance of underwear from her home was not a first-time occurrence.
"When my late grandmother was alive, her underwear drying in the garage also went missing, but at the time, we didn't take it seriously.
"I started noticing when my sister's and my underwear frequently disappeared, sometimes up to seven pieces at once," she explained.
