A VIDEO of a man repeatedly punching a woman in a public car park spread rapidly on the Threads social media platform, drawing widespread outrage.
The footage was all the more shocking given where the attack is believed to have taken place.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof said a report was received at 2.51pm on June 21 following the incident, which is believed to have occurred in a public parking area outside Bandar Baru Bangi police station.
"Following the report received, police also detected a video recording that went viral on the Threads social media platform believed to show the incident.
"Acting on information and the results of investigations carried out, the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kajang district police headquarters arrested a local man in his 20s at 6.20pm on June 22," said ACP Naazron.
The suspect, an e-hailing driver believed to be the victim's ex-husband, was remanded for three days.
He was brought to Bandar Baru Bangi Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (June 23) for a remand order to assist further investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 323 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
“The cause of the attack is still under investigation,” said ACP Naazron.
