QuickCheck: Was there a brawl at a jetty in Semporna?


Sometimes, people get along. Sometimes, they don't. A video has gone viral on social media of a few men engaging in a bit of fisticuffs at what appears to be a jetty. Did this happen in Malaysia?

According to Semporna police, the incident took place at Kahanga Jetty around 9am on Dec 21.

"The fight was due to a minor collision with a boat at the jetty which ferried people in the area.

"No major damage to property or life was recorded," said acting Semporna OCPD Asst Supt Arif Abdul Razak@Idris in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 25).

All parties involved have had their statements taken and have agreed to put the matter behind them, he said.

Police urged the public to refrain from speculating on the issue.
