PAS Youth chief attends Umno Youth assembly in reciprocal visit

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden made a high-profile appearance at the Umno Youth annual general assembly on Thursday (Sept 10), signalling continued cross-party engagement ahead of the main convention.

Clad in a white baju Melayu paired with a green samping, Afnan was warmly embraced by Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Muhammad Akmal Saleh upon his arrival at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. The two youth leaders then walked together into the assembly hall alongside MCA Youth chief Ling Tian Soon and MIC Youth chief Arvind Krishnan.

Afnan's presence reciprocates Dr Akmal's attendance at the PAS annual Muktamar earlier this month, following an invitation extended by the Islamic party.

The gesture aligns with earlier statements by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who confirmed that top PAS leaders would be invited to Umno's annual general assembly as a reciprocal courtesy.
