NEARLY two decades after his grandfather’s death, Mohamad Aiman Fahmy Mohd Akmal continues to cherish their memories.
The 32-year-old from Kota Laksamana, Melaka, still visits the grave of his late grandfather, Chai Chin Soo, affectionately known as Ah Kong, who died in 2007, Harian Metro reported.
Mohamad Aiman’s story attracted attention after he shared a photograph on social media while visiting his grandfather’s grave in Cheng here on Aug 13.
The father of two said he had been close to his grandfather as a child.
“Every Chinese New Year, my father, Mohd Akmal Abdullah, 58, would take the whole family to Ah Kong’s house for a reunion dinner. One memory I will never forget was tossing yee sang together.
“My father’s relationship with his family remained good even though he was the only one who embraced Islam. I was deeply affected by Ah Kong’s death. I was only 13 at the time.”

“I am in the process of publishing a 400-page autobiography. I am currently selecting the photographs for the book,” he said, Sinar Harian reported.
Yasin, 51, was recently allowed to leave Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta in Perak after over three years of treatment.
