KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Tourism Board launches the month-long Sabah Fest 2026 across Sabah and Kuala Lumpur from Aug 29 to Sept 29.
The festival features 50 selected events, including cultural performances, workshops, exhibitions, and special tourism packages. Roadshows will take place in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Kudat, and Kuala Lumpur.
The event coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Sabah Tourism Board. The board’s chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai on Tuesday (Aug 11) stated that the festival celebrates the state's cultural diversity and local heritage.
“Sabah Fest provides an important platform to celebrate our communities, traditions, and local experiences while creating opportunities for the tourism industry to work together in promoting what Sabah has to offer,” he said.
Sri Pelancongan Sabah organises the celebration in collaboration with various regional tourism stakeholders. Interested event organisers can register their activities through the official Hello Sabah website.
