KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at Masjid As Syarif in Taman Sungai Besi Indah at 4.05pm to pay their last respects to Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali on Monday (Sept 28).
The couple arrived at the mosque in the afternoon, where funeral prayers were being held for the wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, also made an appearance at the mosque to pay her respects.
Earlier, the remains of Siti Hasmah arrived at the mosque at about 3pm from her residence at The Mines in Seri Kembangan, where family members and close friends had gathered for Yasin prayers and to pay their final respects.
Siti Hasmah, who passed away at the age of 100 at the National Heart Institute earlier Monday, will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Precinct 20, Putrajaya, following the funeral prayers.
