KUALA LUMPUR: The remains of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali arrived at Masjid As Syarif in Taman Sungai Besi Indah at about 3pm on Monday (Sept 28) for funeral prayers.
The wife of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was brought from her residence at The Mines in Seri Kembangan, where family members and close friends had gathered earlier to pay their final respects and recite Yasin prayers.
Among the political figures who arrived at the mosque to pay their respects were former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
A separate vehicle carrying Dr Mahathir also arrived at the mosque, with the former prime minister dressed in a white baju Melayu to attend his wife's funeral prayers.
The remains were accompanied by family members, political leaders and close friends.
