SERI KEMBANGAN: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived at Masjid As-Syarif in Taman Sungai Besi Indah on Monday (Sept 28) afternoon.
He arrived at about 2.58pm ahead of the funeral prayers for his late wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali.
Earlier, a Yasin recitation for Dr Siti Hasmah was held at the couple’s residence at The Mines Residence at about 12.50pm, with family members, friends and dignitaries gathering to pay their last respects.
Among those who attended the gathering were former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.

The remains were scheduled to be brought to Masjid As-Syarif for funeral prayers after Asr before being transported to Makam Pahlawan in Presint 20, Putrajaya, for burial under a government-accorded state funeral.
Dr Siti Hasmah passed away at the National Heart Institute at 9.20am on Monday at the age of 100, having celebrated her centenary birthday on July 12.
Her remains were taken to the family residence at The Mines after leaving the medical centre at about 10.48am.
