Too hot to handle: Plugged in sex toy linked to Melaka fire

MELAKA: A charger for a sex toy that was left plugged in is believed to have caused a bedroom fire at a house in Taman Belimbing Harmoni, Durian Tunggal, on Sunday (Sept 27).

The fire was confined to a mattress in an unoccupied room.

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department Zone Two chief Zulkhairani Ramli said seven firefighters were deployed after an emergency call was received at 12.55pm.

They arrived at the house about 10 minutes later.

No injuries were reported and the structure of the house was not damaged.

“An initial inspection found that the fire was believed to have started from an electronic charger left plugged in,” he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 28).

Zulkhairani said the fire was brought under control at 1.59pm and the operation ended at 2.03pm.
