SEREMBAN: The Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Kuskop) has channelled nearly RM7bil under its Power Up 10K initiative, benefiting more than 213,000 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) nationwide during the first six months of this year.
Minister Steven Sim (pic) said the funds were disbursed through various support and financing programmes under the initiative, which targets a total disbursement of RM15bil this year.
He said the achievement reflected the ministry’s continued commitment to ensuring that the MSME sector remains competitive and resilient in facing current global economic challenges.
“For Negri Sembilan alone, under the Power Up programme, we have successfully channelled RM345mil to more than 6,600 local entrepreneurs.
“This shows that government funding and support are reaching the grassroots effectively,” he told reporters after attending the Negri Sembilan Kuskop staff and agencies’ assembly here yesterday, Bernama reported.
