AFTER Norway was eliminated from the World Cup, a man in Taichung, Taiwan, honoured his promise by running through the streets wearing only a pair of briefs, reported China Press.

Onlookers cheered him on, shouting, “Go! Go! Go!”, while others commented, “Awesome! He’s really fast!”, as the unusual sight attracted plenty of attention.

The incident occurred amid heightened public interest in the World Cup across Taiwan.

Before the tournament, the man had publicly declared online that he would streak if Norway fail to reach the semi-finals.

He wore only his underwear and sandals while running, and kept his identity concealed by wearing a full-face helmet.

His follow-through sparked debate online.

Some netizens said that wearing underwear meant it was not technically streaking, while others praised him for keeping his word.

The daily reported that to avoid violating public decency laws or disrupting public order, the man retained his underwear while completing the run, fulfilling his bet without becoming completely naked.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that a 69-year-old villager from Hunan province, China, required 115 stitches and is undergoing reconstructive surgery after an attacker bit off his nose.

Despite the excruciating pain, Zeng Fanlin continued to pin the attacker down until police arrived.

His heroic action earned him recognition from the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, which named him one of the “National Heroes of Courage and Righteousness” for the second quarter of 2026.

The incident occurred on April 11, when a young man suddenly turned violent, attacking people and kicking doors as he rampaged through the village.

He then stopped a woman riding a motorcycle and began choking her with both hands.

Zeng rushed forward to confront the attacker. During the struggle, the man bit off a large portion of Zeng’s nose and swallowed it.

“At first I didn’t feel anything. Later someone told me, ‘Your nose is gone’,” he said.

When he touched his face, he realised that most of his nose was missing.
