ACTOR Kamal Adli has downplayed the “green flag ex-husband” label given to him by netizens after his birthday message to former wife Uqasha Senrose attracted widespread attention.

The term refers to people who maintained a good relationship with their former spouses.

“It’s not (about being a green flag). I feel that it is something that others do too,” he said, as quoted by Astro Gempak.

“Furthermore, there are no issues or reasons for us to fight or to hate.”

Kamal, 40, and Uqasha, 33, got married in Nov 2021. The couple, who divorced earlier this year, have a daughter.

In the birthday greeting posted on Threads on July 6, Kamal wished her joy and blessings, besides asking the public to send wishes to her as well. Following the widespread reaction to the post, Kamal explained that the birthday message was not intended to gain sympathy from anyone.

His intention, he said, was to indicate their amicable relationship for the sake of their daughter.
