A FIGHT with his wife led to the discovery of a gun which he once used to commit an armed robbery 36 years ago, Makkal Osai reported.
Shivakumar, 71, was finally arrested by police who found documents which revealed his actual identity as V.K. Jose from India’s Kerala state.
It turns out that Shivakumar, who lives with his wife in the neighbouring Karnataka state, had robbed a state-run bus conductor in 1990 of 200 rupees after threatening the man with the very gun.
Back then when he was identified as a suspect and a warrant was issued, Shivakumar ran away to Mysuru city in Karnataka and started a new life, getting a job as a painter and eventually marrying a local woman who had no idea about his background.
Recently, Shivakumar and his wife got into a domestic dispute which escalated into a physical scuffle.
Police who responded to a call carried out a routine check in the house and found a gun hidden under his bed.
