UNIVERSITI Malaya’s Tamil Peravai will publish the 40th edition of it short story anthology this year, Makkal Osai reported.

The Peravai or Tamil Language Society (TLS) as it is formally known, was founded in 1959, making it the country’s oldest Tamil association for university students. The annual anthology, published under the title Peravai Kathaigal, was first issued in 1981.

The publication was intended to capture the zeitgeist of the community over the years and decades through the ideas and thoughts of local Tamil writers of different backgrounds, TLS exco member Reshma Devya Moorthy said.

This year’s publication will accept submissions under three categories – students from Form Four to university, open category and international submissions.
