Two motorcyclists killed in three-vehicle crash

JOHOR BARU: Two motorcyclists were killed in a collision involving three vehicles at KM24.9 of the Johor Baru-Gelang Patah-Pendas Road here on Monday (Oct 26) morning.

Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm Radin Ramlan Radin Taha said that at about 7.20 am, a car carrying a driver and two passengers was travelling towards Lima Kedai.

He said the car was believed to have lost control while negotiating a bend on a wet and slippery road before veering into the opposite lane and colliding with two motorcycles travelling from Gelang Patah.

"Both motorcyclists, local men aged 34 and 50, were pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe injuries to their heads and right legs.

"The bodies were sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in Johor Baru for post-mortems, while the car driver and two passengers sustained minor injuries to their heads, faces and right legs," he said in a statement.

Radin Ramlan said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, and members of the public or witnesses with information about the incident were urged to come forward to assist in the investigation. - Bernama
