Man killed in three-vehicle crash in Shah Alam

SHAH ALAM: A 31-year-old man has been killed after the pick-up truck he was driving was involved in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Jalan Bukit Naga and Jalan Bukit Kemuning here.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Sarudin Samah said the accident, which occurred at about 10am on Tuesday (July 14), involved a pick-up truck, a lorry and a trailer.

"Preliminary investigations found that the pick-up truck was travelling from Klang when it made a right turn into Jalan Bukit Naga before colliding with a lorry coming from Bukit Naga, which was turning towards Jalan Bukit Kemuning.

"The impact caused the pick-up truck to veer into the opposite lane and crash into an oncoming trailer," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the pick-up truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was sent to Shah Alam Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.

ACP Sarudin urged anyone with information on the accident to contact the investigating officer, Insp Nur Iqmal Maisarah Azman, at 017-283 6851, or the Shah Alam Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division to assist in the investigation.
