Cabinet members wish Dr M a happy birthday


PETALING JAYA: Cabinet members took turns in wishing Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad a blessed 101st birthday through social media posts.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was among the first few who did so, by extending his birthday wishes in a Facebook post.

“May Tun continue to be blessed with grace, good health and be under His blessings, Insya-Allah.”

Bernama also reported that several Cabinet ministers also extended similar greetings.

In a Facebook post, Communi-cations Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil prayed that Dr Mahathir be blessed with continued good health, happiness and a life filled with blessings.

“May Tun be blessed with long-lasting health, happiness and a life full of blessings. Happy 101st Birthday! What an incredible milestone!”

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institu-tional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said and Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir also joined in the chorus, with both ministers also praying that Dr Mahathir will be granted good health, showered with Allah’s mercy, and continue to be under His blessings.

Born on July 10, 1925, in Alor Setar, Kedah, Dr Mahathir served as Malaysia’s fourth prime minister from 1981 to 2003 before returning as the country’s seventh prime minister from 2018 to 2020.

When he was reappointed at the age of 92, Dr Mahathir became the world’s oldest serving prime minister.

He also remains Malaysia’s longest-serving prime minister and the country’s oldest living former premier.
