Kedah Education Dept provides support after pupil falls from school third floor to catch bird


ALOR SETAR: The Kedah Education Department (JPN) said it is closely monitoring the situation and extending full welfare, psychological, and counselling support to the pupil who fell from the third floor of a school and his family.

In a statement on Wednesday (July 8), it said that in addition to emotional support, interventions will be provided to other pupils at the school to safeguard their mental well-being following the traumatic event.

On Tuesday (July 7), a Year Five pupil was injured after falling from the third floor of a primary school in Padang Terap while trying to catch a bird

Padang Terap OCPD Supt Mohd Anuar Junoh said the police received an emergency call from a teacher at the school at around 4pm.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim fell while attempting to catch a bird in the ceiling space of the school building. Supt Anuar added that police have ruled out foul play.
