Calling the kids back home with a drone

A FATHER in Petaling Jaya has amused netizens after using a drone to summon his children home.

In a video shared on social media, several children are seen playing at a park before noticing a drone hovering above them.

Moments later, they begin leaving the playground, apparently recognising it as a signal that it was time to head home.

Many social media users found the father’s creative approach entertaining, Kosmo! reported.

“This is the modern way of calling your children home. In the past, parents used a cane or a rubber hose,” one user commented.

“Our mothers used to make things fly too, a ladle and a rubber hose,” joked another.

A third user reminisced: “Back then, if we weren’t home by 7pm, we’d be locked out of the house.”

> A father in Bagan Datuk was left devastated after his six-year-old son, who had a hearing impairment and autism, was found drowned in a drainage ditch at an oil palm plantation.

Muhammad Firdaus Ibrahim, 31, said he never imagined his son, Muhammad Faith Fatih, who also had a limp that affected his mobility, could have walked more than 300m from their home, reported Utusan Malaysia.

“I never thought he could make it to the ditch where he was found because it’s quite far from our house. In fact, since we moved to this village, I have never even been to that oil palm plantation,” he said.

“I don’t know how he managed to walk that far, but I accept what has happened.”

Firdaus said he realised his son was missing at about 3.30pm on Wednesday after finding only an empty plastic snack container outside the house. He later lodged a police report.

> Actress and singer Erra Fazira says reuniting with Datuk Hans Isaac for the upcoming police drama Gerak Khas 2.0 was effortless, despite not having acted together for many years, reported Harian Metro.

“I was surprised when I heard his name. I thought, ‘Would Hans want to act?’ because he’s been so busy.

“But he accepted the challenge, and I think that’s a good thing,” she said at the series’ premiere recently.

Erra said the pair slipped back into working together easily, thanks to their professionalism.

“We’re very professional, and there were no issues at all. If anyone wants to pair Erra and Hans again after this, that’s fine. Hans is okay with it, and so am I,” she said with a laugh.
