KUCHING: A total of 37,880 vehicles in Sarawak are eligible for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS), says state Domestic Trade and Cost of Living director Matthew Dominic Barin.
However, he said only 26,000 vehicles had registered under the scheme since implementation began on Wednesday (July 1).

"We invite all eligible vehicle owners and companies to apply at our offices or online via the mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my portal and check their eligibility to enjoy the subsidised diesel," he told reporters after visiting a petrol station here on Friday (July 3).
Matthew said SKDS eligibility had been expanded to include company-owned private vehicles comprising jeeps and pick-up trucks.
He also said SKDS was for commercial vehicles, not privately-owned vehicles.
"Private diesel vehicle owners are eligible for the Budi Diesel scheme.

"They don't need to register for it. They can use their MyKad to purchase diesel at the subsidised price," he said.
Matthew added that the ministry was engaging with transport associations, local community leaders and government agencies in major towns and rural areas across Sarawak on the implementation of SKDS and Budi Diesel.
"We have opened counters at all our branches. Anyone facing any issues can channel them to us and we will assist," he said.
