JOHOR BARU: Many of the promises made in the Pakatan Harapan's manifesto have already been achieved by the present Barisan Nasional state government, says Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The Barisan Nasional president said that he has already gone through many of points in the election manifesto and there was nothing new that could be a game changer.

"Anyway we respect their manifesto but many of their plans have already been done by the Barisan government in the previous term," he said at an event at a public housing in Larkin here on Friday (July 3).

Pakatan Harapan had announced their 10-point election manifesto earlier on Friday.

Asked about Pakatan always touting about the successes in Selangor, Ahmad Zahid said that it was not an apple-to-apple comparison.

"Johor had already gone ahead in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI), domestic direct investment (DDI) and revenue collected.

"If they want to compete, better do it in a healthy way," Ahmad Zahid, who is also Deputy Prime Minister, added.

Earlier in his speech, he urged parties to concentrate on issues in Johor instead of dragging things that happen in Putrajaya.

"I hope local voters do not get influenced by these.

"I hope voters can give Barisan a stronger mandate so that caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi would be able to come up with more plans, which can be a game changer," he added.

Ahmad Zahid and Onn Hafiz had earlier visited a Bangsa Johor Kindergarten in Larkin, which was among four premises which have been developed with an allocation of RM3.6mil.

Earlier, Onn Hafiz in his speech said that with the rapid development in the state under the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) some 25,000 jobs were created, including 9,000 premises jobs last year.

He added that the state government had also allocated RM50mil to upgrade and upkeep public housing in the state.
