Body discovered after three-day search for drowning victim near Banting Bridge


PETALING JAYA: The body of a man who reportedly drowned near the Banting Bridge has been found after a three-day search.

Ashrul Riezal Asbar, the assistant operations director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, confirmed that the body was discovered on Monday (June 29) around 10am at the back of a factory jetty.

“The body was located approximately 17km from the department’s command post for the search operation. We have handed over the body to the police for further investigation, and the operation has officially concluded,” he stated on Monday.

The 29-year-old victim had reportedly drowned near the Banting Bridge after jumping into the river on June 27.
