PASIR GUDANG: Three members of a family suffered burns after a fire broke out in their flat.
The fire was believed to have been caused by a gas leak.
Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue station chief Firdaus Ahmad said the incident happened at a third-floor unit located in Block 14, Taman Air Biru near here on Wednesday (June 24).
“We received an emergency call at 9.26pm, and our team arrived at the scene located about 4km away at around 9.31pm,’’ he said in a statement on Thursday (July 25).
Firdaus said the Operations Response Team found that fire had destroyed 50% of the unit.
He said the victims - a 30-year-old male suffered 50% burns on his arms and 20% on both legs, a 28-year-old woman injured her forehand, while a four-year-old suffered burns on her right big toe.
“The victim managed to escape the fire before the arrival of our team,’’ added Firdaus.
He said the operation led by senior officer I Faisal Ismail with 10 firemen, a Fire Rapid Tender vehicle and an Emergency Medical Response Service vehicle ended at 10.40pm.
