KUALA LUMPUR: Almost all states in Peninsular Malaysia, as well as several areas in Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan, are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds until 5pm on Saturday (June 20).
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement on Saturday announced that the bad weather is expected to occur throughout the states of Perlis and Penang.
In Kedah, the areas involved include Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu, while in Perak, it involves Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.
For the east coast region, the warning was issued for Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat) and Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin).
Also affected is Johor, involving the Mersing and Kota Tinggi districts.
In Sabah, the bad weather forecast involves the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tambunan), the West Coast, Tawau (Kunak and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Beluran) and Kudat, as well as the Federal Territory of Labuan.
Meanwhile, in Sarawak, similar conditions are expected to occur in Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Sarikei (Pakan and Julau), Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), Mukah (Matu and Dalat), Kapit (Song), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang. – Bernama
