MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in several states until 9pm (June 10)


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several states and Federal territories until 9pm on Wednesday (June 10).

In a statement at 7pm on Wednesday, MetMalaysia said thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in Perak involving Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Hilir Perak and Batang Padang.

The warning also covers Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Jeli and Tanah Merah) and Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman).

In Pahang, the areas affected are Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan and Bera.

In Sarawak, the warning involves Kuching, Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Mukah (Tanjung Manis), Miri (Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.

In Sabah, the areas affected are the interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), the west coast (Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud) and Kudat, as well as Labuan.
