KUCHING: Sarawak launched the Bintulu Transitioning Industrial Cluster (TIC) in Kuching on Thursday (June 11), linking Malaysia’s first World Economic Forum-backed cluster to 39 clusters in 20 countries.
Sarawak Premier, Abang Johari Openg, said Bintulu and Samalaju Industrial Park formed a strategic energy and industrial corridor in Southeast Asia. He said the initiative grouped 23 industry players, government agencies, financiers and technology partners.
"This gives us access to international expertise, solutions and strategic partnerships in areas such as clean energy, industrial symbiosis, digitalisation, hydrogen, carbon management, circular systems and workforce development," he said when launching the Bintulu TIC here on Thursday.
He said Bintulu would join clusters working on clean and competitive industry. He said the network provided access to expertise, solutions and partnerships.
He said four pilot projects would start this year, covering smart manufacturing, the Sarawak CCU-H2 Hub, industrial symbiosis and workforce upskilling.
