Armed Forces veteran reported missing in Setapak

KUALA LUMPUR: An Armed Forces veteran has gone missing since May 18 after last being seen in Setapak.

His youngest child, Nuri Ismail, told Sinar Harian that her father was last seen then at a relative’s home in the area after lunch.

He told family members that he went to wash his hands, but soon after, he disappeared.

“When we realised he had gone missing, we started searching for him around the area but found no leads,” she said.

It was then that a police report was lodged on his disappearance.

She added that this was the second instance of her father going missing. The previous incident saw him going missing in Tampin, Negri Sembilan, before being found in Setapak.

Nuri said that her father had been depressed since the death of his wife in February and that he had trouble remembering things.

“Since then, there were times when he would forget his own relatives,” she said.

When contacted, Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Annas Sulaiman confirmed the missing persons report has been lodged.

He urged those with information about the case to contact the district police directly.
