Influencer denies role in couple’s breakup

CONTROVERSIAL Singaporean influencer Sarah Yasmine has denied claims that she was a third party in the relationship between former celebrity couple Fify Azmi and Niezam Zaidi, Kosmo! reported.

Sarah said she and Niezam became close friends while working on the drama Dia Bukan Syurga.

“When I got to know Niezam, he was no longer with Fify. However, I knew he still loved Fify,” she said.

Sarah also admitted visiting Niezam’s house, as alleged by Fify, but said they were not alone as the actor’s housemates were present.

Fify, whose full name is Nur Afiqah Mohamed Azmi, 36, and Niezam reportedly ended their relationship in June 2025.

> A 61-year-old man who suffered a fractured right leg after being gored by a sacrificial cow at Kampung Teluk Pelanduk Mosque in Port Dickson last week said the incident would not deter him from participating in future korban events, Kosmo! reported.

Muhd Sanit Husdan said the incident occurred at about 10.30am on the first day of Hari Raya Aidiladha while preparations were being made to restrain the second cow for slaughter.

He said he had been showing several youths how to handle the animal when it suddenly became aggressive.

“I was sitting under a tree when the animal suddenly charged and gored me. I see this as a test and it will not stop me from continuing to take part in korban activities in the future,” he said.

> The number of Malaysian couples getting married in southern Thailand surged during the recent extended public holiday period, with authorities recording more than double the usual number of daily applications, Berita Harian reported.

Deputy president of the Narathiwat Islamic Religious Council, Abdul Aziz Che Mamat, said the council handled an average of five Malaysian couples a day during the holiday period, compared with two couples on normal days.

He said many couples took advantage of the long break to complete their marriage arrangements without having to take additional leave from work.

“The Malaysian couples come from various states, including Kelantan, Terengganu, Selangor and several others,” he said.

Southern Thailand has long been a preferred destination for Malaysian Muslim couples due to its proximity to the Malaysia-Thailand border and established administrative procedures for marriage registrations.
