Thunderstorm warning for five states until 1am, says MetMalaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak until 1am Tuesday (June 2).

A MetMalaysia statement at 8.30pm said the affected areas are Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), and Johor (Segamat and Mersing).

In Sabah, bad weather is set to hit the interior districts of Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort and Nabawan; West Coast (Papar); Tawau (Lahad Datu); and Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid, Kinabatangan and Sandakan).

Over in Sarawak, the forecast covers Kuching (Bau and Kuching), Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sri Aman, Kapit (Song), and Limbang (Lawas). — Bernama
