Selangor Ruler, Tengku Permaisuri extend birthday greeting to the King


SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, have extended their congratulations in conjunction with the Official Birthday Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.

According to a post on the Selangor Royal Office Facebook page, Sultan Sharafuddin also prayed that Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, be blessed with continued good health, a long life filled with blessings, and remain under the protection and mercy of Allah as they continue to safeguard the nation and lead the people with wisdom and authority.

"The Sultan of Selangor also supports and welcomes His Majesty's decree that any individual who rejects the principles of the Rukun Negara is not worthy to be called a Malaysian citizen," the post stated.

Sultan Sharafuddin said that the people, especially the younger generation, must understand, appreciate and practise the values enshrined in the Rukun Negara in order to achieve a harmonious and peaceful society among Malaysia's multi-ethnic population. - Bernama
