Ahmad Zahid praises air force personnel's dedication, professionalism on 68th anniversary

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has praised the professionalism, efficiency and dedication of air force personnel, saying their commitment to duty reflects the country's readiness to safeguard its people and sovereignty.

He said the air force has remained a key pillar of the nation's air defence for the past 68 years, continuing to protect Malaysia's airspace amid increasingly complex security challenges.

Ahmad Zahid also acknowledged the force's contributions beyond military operations, particularly its role in assisting the public during emergencies, disaster management efforts and cloud seeding operations.

"From pilots, aircrew, engineers and technicians to ground support personnel, every member plays an important role in ensuring each mission is carried out successfully and safely,” he said in a Facebook post in conjunction with the air force's 68th anniversary on Monday (June 1).

The deputy prime minister also expressed his appreciation to all air force personnel, including veterans, for their service and sacrifices to the nation.

He prayed for the force's continued success and described it as a source of pride for Malaysians.

The air force is marking its 68th anniversary this year under the theme, ‘Kuasa Udara, Perisai Negara’ (Air Power, Shield of the Nation). - Bernama
