Thunderstorms and heavy rain expected on east coast, other states until 4pm


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over several states and federal territories until 4pm on Saturday (May 23).

The states affected in Peninsular Malaysia are Perak (Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim); Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Bachok and Pasir Puteh); Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman) and Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Bentong, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin).

Other areas affected include Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor.

In Sabah, the weather warning covers the interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Keningau and Tambunan), the west coast, Tawau, Sandakan (Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan), Kudat as well as Labuan.
