FELDA Chiku 1 and Chiku 2 residents in Gua Musang want the authorities to repair the main road as it was littered with potholes, Kosmo! reported.
They said the main road, which is used by over 3,000 residents from both settlements for over 40 years, needed to be upgraded.
Federal Land Development Authority Chiku 2 settlers’ head Abdul Razak Mamat said the road had never undergone a proper resurfacing project, causing it to become damaged with potholes, especially after it rains.
“The potholes make the road very dangerous. It has not been upgraded for far too long and is only patched up instead of being properly repaired.
“We have submitted requests to the authorities and hope upgrading works can be carried out as soon as possible,” he said.
Another settler Hamid Mat Hasan, 64, urged authorities to rebuild the road entirely, saying that it is the main route for settlers to go to work at a nearby palm oil mill.
> Singer Hasnol, who was popular in the 1990s, has now turned to e-hailing to make ends meet, Harian Metro reported.
The 56-year-old said he does not feel shameful about taking on e-hailing work, adding that he is grateful when passengers recognise him during rides.
“Some even asked me to sing. I agreed and got tips from them.
“I’m grateful for my life. But honestly, even just doing e-hailing isn’t enough to cover my living expenses,” he said, adding that he even works until 3am on weekends.
