Disabled woman killed in early-morning house fire in Parit Buntar


IPOH: A disabled woman was found dead, while her mother sustained injuries, in a house fire in Bagan Tiang, Parit Buntar.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the 48-year-old victim was found burnt in the house, while her mother, 71, sustained injuries to both soles of her feet during the incident, which happened at about 2:30am on Tuesday (May 13).

"Apart from the house, a car was also destroyed during the incident.

"The mother has been handed over to the Health Ministry personnel," he said in a statement.

"The fire was controlled at about 3am and the operation ended at about 6.25am," Sabarodzi added.
