KUALA LUMPUR: The driver of an Immigration Department lorry involved in a crash that killed three family members is expected to be charged at the Jalan Duta Court Complex.
The 43-year-old suspect will be produced in court on Thursday (Aug 20) following instructions from the prosecution.
Earlier, Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa stated that investigation papers (IP) into the fatal accident involving the lorry and four pedestrians were submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP).
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
"Following discussions with the prosecution at 2.45pm yesterday (Aug 19), the DPP recommended that the papers be referred to the head of the General Crimes and Public Order Unit at the Attorney General's Chambers in Putrajaya," ACP Mohd Zamzuri said on Thursday.
He added that the investigating officer brought the IP to Putrajaya at 8am on Thursday for final review and charging instructions.
