Bomba helps free MPV after tyre gets stuck in sinkhole

KUALA LUMPUR: The tyre of a multi-purpose vehicle sank into a hole following soil subsidence in front of Pudu Plaza along Jalan Landak here on Wednesday (April 22).

The Kuala Lumpur Operations Control Centre said it received a call on the incident at about 11.11am.

A total of 13 personnel from the Hang Tuah Fire and Rescue Station, along with a fire engine, an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit and a Rapid Intervention Motorcycle (RIM), were dispatched to the scene.

“According to operations commander Senior Fire Officer I Mazuri Mat Zain, upon arrival, the team found that the vehicle’s front tyre had sunk due to soil subsidence.

“Personnel immediately carried out recovery works using the fire engine’s winch. No injuries were reported,” it said in a statement on Wednesday.
