THE Program Madani Rakyat (PMR) 2026, held April 3-5 at the Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout in Meru Raya, Perak, concluded on a high note.
More than 300,000 people attended the event, participating in a variety of activities organised by government agencies and departments. These included service counters, healthcare services, Rahmah and Agro Madani sales, job opportunities, local food fairs, and entrepreneur booths.
Other highlights included a motorcycle helmet exchange programme, free engine oil changes for motorcycles, games, free haircuts, distribution of seeds and saplings, and exhibitions by defence and security agencies.
Themed “Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities”, the programme aimed to promote government policies and initiatives, enhance public understanding of the government’s vision, and build trust and confidence between the government and the people through updates on its achievements.
Over the three-day programme, PMR 2026 recorded total sales of nearly RM1mil through initiatives such as Jualan Madani, Selera Perak, Jualan Usahawan, as well as existing sales activities.

This reflects strong public support for the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen community well-being and stimulate domestic economic growth at the grassroots level.
PMR 2026 was organised by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (Pacu), in strategic partnership with the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) and the Perak State Government.
The event was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
In his opening speech on April 4, Anwar reminded the public not to be complacent.
“Also known as the culture of contentment, a culture of complacency will weaken us. Any sudden global event could catch us off guard if we are not careful,” he said.
Anwar also presented the Syawal Sentuhan Kasih Contribution to six recipients, including orphanage welfare homes, senior citizens and persons with disabilities, providing RM5,000 each to support them during the festive season.
Meanwhile, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming highlighted that since PMR was introduced in 2024 as one of the government’s flagship programmes, it has continued to bring innovative ways of delivering services to the people.

“The government listens to the people, understands the pulse of society, and translates their needs into concrete action,” he said.
Nga added that the ministry is working to ensure the prices of affordable homes remain stable despite rising global construction material costs.
“The Housing Credit Assurance Scheme is also available for those without regular monthly salary slips, including gig workers, to help them own their homes,” he said.
On the last day of the event, Nga presented prizes to the winners of the Photography and Videography Competition and officiated the lucky draw, with the grand prize being a Perodua Axia.
According to Pacu’s Facebook post, 17-year-old Siti Nur Aishah Salehhudin from Jelapang Jaya, Ipoh, was the lucky winner. She said she and her family travelled to the event venue via an e-hailing ride to participate in the activities and learn more about government initiatives, never expecting to win the main prize.
Reflecting on the three-day programme, Nga said the success of PMR 2026 demonstrates the strong support of the people for the Madani government.
“This extraordinary turnout sends a clear signal that the public expects fast, transparent and inclusive services.

“We are not merely building sustainable cities, but also uplifting the dignity of the people through a strengthened economy and safeguarded welfare.
“This is the true essence of Malaysia Madani, where no one is left behind in the nation’s development journey.”
He added: “A sustainable city is not just a slogan; it reflects our ecological commitment to building a green, friendly and resilient environment.
“KPKT aims to upgrade or construct 100 Madani Recreational Parks nationwide each year.
“Specifically for Ipoh, the Madani government, in collaboration with the Perak State Government, carried out projects to upgrade 12 Madani Recreational Parks last year, including Taman Madani Tambun, Woodlands, Canning Gardens, Westpool Park, Pengkalan Barat and others.
“Quality housing, meanwhile, symbolises social justice, serving as a guarantee that every family has the right to live under a modern, comfortable and affordable roof.
“In line with this, KPKT continues to ensure that affordable housing prices remain stable despite rising global construction material costs, while closely monitoring ongoing projects to prevent delays or disruptions,” Nga said in his closing speech.
