Search continues for three feared drowned in separate Pahang incidents

KUANTAN: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for three individuals feared drowned in separate incidents at Pantai Sepat here and Kampung Durian Hijau in Jerantut is continuing on Saturday (April 4).

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Mohd Salahuddin Isa said the search for fisherman Mohd Ishak Ismail, 63, who went missing at Pantai Sepat, has entered its third day.

He said Mohd Ishak left the Tanjung Api jetty at about 10am on Wednesday (April 1) and would normally return the following day to the same jetty, but he failed to do so, prompting a report to be lodged on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Mohd Salahuddin said efforts to locate Muhammad Amirul Ashraf Abdullah and Muhammad Danial Haikal Shamsudin, both aged 14, who went missing while bathing in Sungai Pahang at Kampung Durian Hijau, have also been intensified.

"The Water Rescue Team has conducted dives at the location where the victims are believed to have fallen, as well as along several downstream areas. Three personnel from the Kuala Krau Fire and Rescue Station are also carrying out surface searches," he said in a statement. – Bernama
