"A man in his 20s, believed to be the tenant of the unit, as well as three foreigners – a man and two women in their 20s – who were trapped in a fourth-floor unit by thick smoke, were successfully rescued by firefighters," he said in a statement on Monday (June 29).

Ashrul Riezal said all four victims were brought to safety and no injuries were reported.

He added that the fire was brought under control at 10.12am.
