Police issue 75 summonses, seize 31 bikes in anti-illegal racing ops on Second Link


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have issued 75 summonses and seized 31 motorcycles on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua) in an operation against illegal racing and dangerous riding here.

Acting Iskandar Puteri OCPD Supt Saifullah Jaya @ Yahaya said 50 motorcyclists and pillon riders comprising 48 men and two women, along with 42 motorcycles, were checked during the operation from 1am to 4am on Sunday (Aug 23).

"Offences found included not having side mirrors, no registration plates, illegal fancy registration plates, illegal modifications, not having driving licence and insurance coverage.

"A total of 31 motorcycles were seized," he said in a statement on Sunday, adding that 75 summonses were issued for violations of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
