Political stability primary prerequisite for Sabah development, says Hajiji

KOTA KINABALU: The state government has assured to strengthen political stability as well as to continue bringing better development for the people in the coming days.

Saying this as part of his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said that the state government remained steadfast in its commitment to strengthening the political stability currently enjoyed in Sabah.

"Political stability is the primary prerequisite for the state's development and prosperity," he said.

He said Sabah has outlined a more strategic and comprehensive roadmap to propel the state to a higher level of development through the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 development plan.

"SMJ 2.0 is not merely a plan on paper, but a clear commitment to transforming the state's economy, empowering human capital and ensuring that the welfare of the people remains a priority," Hajiji said.

The Chief Minister called upon all Sabahans to use the Aidilfitri celebrations as a catalyst to renew their resolutions, strengthen unity and redouble efforts toward building a more advanced and prosperous Sabah under the SMJ agenda.

"Aidilfitri is a symbol of victory over one's desires, the triumph of nurturing the soul with patience and sincerity and a celebration of strengthening bonds among family members, neighbours and the whole community.

"In this blessed land of Sabah, Aidilfitri is celebrated in a spirit of goodwill by people of various races and religions. This is our true strength, unity in diversity," said Hajiji.

He said the values of mutual respect, tolerance and togetherness that have been inherited for so long must continue to be preserved as the foundation of the state's stability and progress.
