No wrongdoing detected in Sejati Madani probe

KUALA LUMPUR: Graft busters have not detected any wrongdoing in connection with alleged misappropriation involving the Sejahtera Komuniti Madani Programme (Sejati Madani).

A source said an investigation paper was opened by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) last year following reports linked to the alleged misuse of funds under the community development programme.

However, initial investigations found that no offence had been committed by any party under the MACC Act 2009.

"The investigation paper was opened last year and, so far, the MACC has found no wrongdoing committed under the MACC Act 2009," the source said.

Terengganu MACC director Hazrul Shazreen Abd Yazid confirmed the matter when contacted on Monday (March 16).

He also urged those with information or evidence related to any alleged misappropriation of funds under the Sejahtera Komuniti Madani Programme to come forward and assist in the investigation.
