RM22.45bil in tax refunds

Back to the rakyat: The LHDN will continue to refund outstanding tax overpayments, and expect to complete refunds for the year 2023 by the end of February.

THE RM22.45bil in tax refunds for overpaid taxes in 2025 was the highest in five years, the Finance Ministry said in a written parliamentary reply on Tuesday.

It said RM56bil was paid between 2023 and 2025, an amount 50% higher than the RM37bil refunded during the period from 2020 to 2022.
