A TOURIST paid just 200 yuan (RM113) and unexpectedly received “chartered flight” treatment, flying alone from Jiuzhaigou county to Chengdu city in China.
Kwong Wah Yit Poh reported that the woman was the sole passenger on Sichuan Airlines departing from Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport to Chengdu Tianfu International Airport on Feb 1.
Before boarding, she received a call from an airline staff, saying she could board at her convenience because she was the only passenger.
“It felt like I had chartered the whole aircraft,” said the woman who shared her experience on social media.
In response, Sichuan Airlines said that unless disrupted by weather or regulatory restrictions, it will operate a flight as long as there are ticketed passengers, regardless of the number.
“This is to prevent travellers from having to find accommodation in Jiuzhaigou overnight and to avoid disrupting their subsequent travel plans,” it said.
> Sin Chew Daily reported that celebrity couple Tony Leung and Carina Lau marked the festive season in Japan.
In pictures shared on Instagram, Lau and Leung posed with their backs to the camera at a ski resort, with Japan’s iconic Mount Fuji in the background.
Lau, 60, was also seen in various images admiring the scenery, playing in the snow and even posing as if she were “eating” it.
On Valentine’s Day, she posted a photo of Leung, 63, driving her through the snow, along with flowers and a message wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day.
