Three hurt as car skids off NSE and down 15m ravine


IPOH: Three people sustained minor injuries after a car skidded off the road and fell into a 15m-deep ravine along KM299.5 of the North-South Expressway on Friday (Feb 13) morning.

The incident occurred at 9.06am on the northbound side.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said personnel from the Gopeng and Tapah stations arrived at the scene, some 30km away, at 9.30am.

He said one of the victims was trapped inside the vehicle.

All three victims were successfully rescued and taken to the hospital, he added.

A total of 11 personnel and three emergency operations were involved in the operation, which ended at 10.17am, he said.
