TEMERLOH: A teenager who was injured in a crash involving 11 vehicles on the East Coast Expressway (LPT) almost two weeks ago has died, bringing the death toll to five.
Sebastian Seow Jhen, 18, who was driving a SUV, died at Hospital Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah here on Saturday (Sept 12) after suffering serious injuries in the Aug 31 crash.
His father, Seow Beng Wain, was also killed in the crash.
Temerloh OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Nasyim Bahron confirmed Sebastian's death, saying his body was taken to Kuala Lumpur for burial, reported Sinar Harian.
"The cause of death was head and body injuries," he said.
The crash occurred at KM110.3 of the LPT when a cement tanker went out of control and hit several vehicles.
The other three deceased are Muhammad Nazatullah, his wife Nur Atiqah Sofiya and their son, who were travelling in another car.
The drivers and passengers of eight other vehicles including an express bus suffered minor injuries.
Meanwhile, the cement tanker driver, Zulkarnain Md Noh, 52, who was seriously injured in the crash, was charged in the hospital on Friday with four counts linked to the deaths of four.
